Our Mission

BLUFify™ provides automated, comprehensive news aggregation across 7 intelligence sectors, designed for professionals who need to stay informed without the noise. We aggregate content from 176+ vetted sources, applying rigorous methodology to surface the most significant stories. Our self-healing feed infrastructure ensures continuous reliability.

How It Works

Our system continuously monitors RSS feeds from wire services, major publications, and specialized outlets. Each story is evaluated using our seven-factor weighted scoring system:

Urgency (0-25)

Breaking indicators, recency, wire service authority, public safety terms

Impact (0-25)

Geographic scope, magnitude indicators, policy significance, elite involvement

Prominence (0-25)

Multi-source coverage, cross-spectrum diversity, source authority weighting

Newsworthiness (0-25)

Conflict/consequence, specificity, headline clarity (Galtung-Ruge factors)

Source Credibility

Every source is rated on two dimensions based on assessments from Media Bias/Fact Check, AllSides, and Ad Fontes Media:

  • Political Bias: A -3 to +3 scale where 0 represents centrist coverage
  • Reliability: A 1-5 scale measuring factual accuracy and journalistic standards

Stories covered by sources across the political spectrum receive elevated prominence through our cross-spectrum validation system.

Enhanced Analysis System

BLUFify™ employs a multi-layer analysis framework to deliver intelligence-grade briefings that are both deep and broad:

Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF)

Executive synthesis of top stories using attribution language, grounded strictly in source material

Per-Story Analysis

Each key development receives its own BLUF, Why It Matters bullets, What's Missing gaps, and a Watch indicator for observable next steps

ACH Alternative Hypothesis

Structured Analysis of Competing Hypotheses per ICD 203: named hypothesis, supporting evidence, and confirmatory indicator — not vague speculation

Longitudinal Context Memory

Rolling 5-briefing context window feeds prior watch items and key questions into each new assessment — ongoing events are analyzed with accumulated context, not as fresh speculation

Adaptive Topic Diversity

Automated Union-Find clustering detects dominant topics and enforces per-topic slot caps — no single event saturates the briefing at the expense of other significant stories

Blindspot Detection

Algorithmic identification of stories with lopsided political coverage (70%+ from one side), with explicit coverage gap alerts when core sectors are underrepresented

Confidence Levels

High/Moderate/Low ratings per ICD 203, calibrated across source count, reliability, and longitudinal context — not reassessed from zero each cycle

3-Page PDF Briefings

Executive summary, per-story Key Developments analysis, and Sector Digest with source balance bar — each page independently formatted to fill the page

ICD 190 Breaking Alerts

Real-time CRITIC-threshold monitoring of Tier 1 wire services and authority feeds. Two-stage evaluation: regex pre-screen + Claude Sonnet with longitudinal context. Alerts fire only for genuinely acute, high-consequence events — never for routine trending headlines.

All analysis adheres to strict methodology constraints ensuring factual grounding and preventing speculation. See the full methodology page for details.
